Before you buy

• Expect your memorial to be backed by a meaningful written warranty. This warranty should protect against cracking and changes in lettering appearance over time.
• Choose a warranty that is backed by irrevocable trust. This ensures that your memorial’s warranty is effective for generations to come.
• Demand top-quality granite. Dont settle for second-grade granite, craftsmanship or poorly contrasting colors.
• Have a knowledgeable and experienced memorial consultant who listens to your needs and desires. You do not want a consultant who pushes you into a purchase you are not ready to make or one that is not affordable.
• Receive an honest estimate of the time-frame needed to complete the entire process ending in the setting of your memorial at the cemetery.
• Be able to see and approve a computerized layout of your memorial before production to ensure there are no surprises once the monument is complete.
• A consultant who is familiar with the area’s cemeteries and their regulations, and who will complete and submit any and all permit applications and affidavits required on your behalf.
• Expect that your engravings be free of black or white paint. Painting letters is a shortcut that will not withstand the test of time.
